The public artwork on the Stockport Interchange is likely to adopt a triangular format for its structure into which can be incorporated imagery, motifs and patterns relevant to Stockport and its heritage.

Notable local people from the Stockport’s past and present can be celebrated, along with the town landmarks, heritage sites, cultural diversity, folklore and shared histories. An example of some notables to be included are Gabrielle Ray, Sir Joseph Whitworth, Jonathan Thatcher, Fred Perry,

  • Norman Foster,

Born in Manchester, Tim studied Fine art at Goldsmiths’ College, London before entering the field of public art. In 2002, he formed Circling the Square which aims to bring together all his experience of engaging communities in designing and implementing innovative public art schemes.
